About Me
I am a native West Virginian, and my love of nature and the outdoors, the natural beauty of West Virginia, and the inspiration provided by other photographers (most prominently, Arnout Hyde, Jr.'s images in Wonderful West Virginia magazine), combined to instill in me the desire to photograph the landscape. Mr. Hyde also played a significant role in the advancement of my photography by providing advice, mentoring, and the opportunity to have my photos published in Wonderful West Virginia during the time he served as Editor.
As a freelance landscape and nature photographer, my images have been published in numerous magazines, calendars, books, brochures, advertising materials, used on web sites, on gift items, etc. My images appeared regularly in Wonderful West Virginia magazine for many years, with approximately 200 images published, including 13 covers. In addition, my framed prints have been purchased by many individuals and businesses to decorate their homes and offices.
In 2013, I was honored to have one of my images, a sunrise along the Highland Scenic Highway, selected by the United States Postal Service to appear on the West Virginia Commemorative Stamp issued to celebrate West Virginia's sesquicentennial (150th anniversary).
I will always be a West Virginian, but in 2018 my wife and I relocated to the Columbus, OH, area to be near our sons and their families. I still get back to West Virginia for photography, but not as often. I'm also exploring the photo opportunities in Ohio and will be adding Ohio galleries as my portfolio expands.
